Al Fresco Dining - In Italy and the World.
A little more than 10 years ago I was on on a cruise to Italy/Greece/Turkey and the starting point of the trip was Venice. By the way, Venice is a magical city and I will be going back before I die. On one of the days there we took a bus ride to an old Tuscan villa high up on a small mountain overlooking the valley below. It was surrounded by vineyards and so they make their own wine. We spent the afternoon touring the villa and surroundings, sampling the wine and then they sat us down for an afternoon meal "Al Fresco". There was 20 or 30 of us, all sitting around a big table under the trees in the warm air, talking and laughing, with the food and wine served to us on a continuous basis. We finished off around 4:30 or so to head on the bus for Rome. It was one of the great times of my life. Good memories of fun people, great food and wine in a marvelous spot. I would like to give you a sense of what that experience is with the following examples in this post.
The following are snapshots, in no real order, so just scroll through and enjoy. Sorry, I did not keep track of where they were from, but the first one is from New Zealand. Most are from Italy and a few from France.
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you have enjoyed this picture postcard tour. I enjoyed putting it together - it brought lots a great memories back to me. There are some great design ideas in these images and I know you will be able to apply them to your outdoor living plans.
